Over the years pcl have supplied Vauxhall Motors with various items of corporate clothing. When the plant in Luton was closing, pcl were asked to supply a large quantity of bespoke casual jackets, subtly branded with the Vauxhall Griffon, as a good-bye gift for their staff.

Pcl have had an ongoing relationship as supplier of work wear for the 400 staff at the Parts and Warehouse Operation which is still located in Luton.

For many years Vauxhall used a laundry service for their work wear. However this was becoming increasingly expensive and 1999 pcl were approached to discuss a better solution for Vauxhall’s requirements.

Following our suggestions, it was decided that rather than the traditional coveralls and bib and brace that the staff had been wearing for several years, Vauxhall would change to polo shirts, sweatshirts, fleece jackets and a combat work trouser. They also decided to supply the management with an oxford shirt or blouse. All garments were to be embroidered with the Vauxhall logo and embroidered personalisation of the employee’s name.

The contract was put out to tender and pcl managed to beat two other contenders to win the contract.

Pcl made several visits to the Vauxhall warehouse, covering all (shifts including the night!) in order to discuss sizing and style of the new uniform with each individual staff member, to ensure that were happy with their choice of garment and were ordering the correct size.

This contract has now been in place for seven years and renewed through tender process twice. Vauxhall are still very happy with their choice of garments which have are in excellent shape even at the end of each contract!
